Recycling in Washington County
Pennsylvania's commitment to sustainability began with
Act 101 in 1988
,
which mandates recycling programs in larger municipalities to reduce waste and preserve our environment.
Washington County provides several avenues for residents to dispose of materials responsibly.
Residential Recycling Options
-
Curbside Services:
Within Washington County, 11 communities are mandated to provide recycling, and two additional communities offer it on a voluntary basis.
Check with your local municipal office to see if curbside service is available at your address.
-
Drop-Off Options:
If curbside pickup is not available in your area, or if you have materials not accepted by your local hauler, please consult the
Washington County Recycling Facilities Directory
for a full list of local and regional drop-off locations.
