Pennsylvania's commitment to sustainability began with Act 101 in 1988 , which mandates recycling programs in larger municipalities to reduce waste and preserve our environment. Washington County provides several avenues for residents to dispose of materials responsibly.
Certain items, such as televisions, computers, and appliances, require special handling and cannot be placed in regular trash.
JVS Environmental
JVS provides dedicated electronics recycling for county residents.
Noble Environmental
Noble Environmental offers collection services for both E-Waste (electronics) and HHW (Household Hazardous Waste).
Washington County hosts specific events for materials that are difficult to recycle, such as tires and household chemicals.
