PURPOSE OF POSITION
To assist a Judge with research, writing, scheduling, and organization necessary to maintain and dispose of cases that are presented to the Courts for resolution.
BACKGROUND/SKILLS REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
A Juris Doctor degree from an American Bar Association-accredited law school is required. Must be able to perform legal research and write summaries and conclusions. Computer skills are necessary.
Physical considerations. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively in person, by telephone and in writing. The individual must use a computer and, therefore, must possess finger dexterity and be able to interpret a computer monitor. Must be able to access file drawers; therefore, some bending, reaching and stooping may be necessary. Must be able to read legal research materials.
The individual works in an office environment.

The Washington County Probation Services Department is seeking to hire a full-time Probation Officer I within the Juvenile Division. This is criminal justice work at the full performance level. Work involves investigating and supervising juvenile offenders in the community. Work is performed under the supervision of an administrative superior. Assignments and day-to-day work are very policy driven and carried out in accordance with general work instructions, including established probation practices and procedures, and applicable legal standards or regulations. Work may involve exposure to unpredictable conditions; applicants will be required to pass defensive tactics training, intermediate weapons training, and the firearms certification process within six months of hire. A final offer of employment is contingent on the applicant passing a full background investigation, psychological assessment, required clearances, drug screen, and post-employment physical requirements.
A bachelor’s degree is required for this position attained through an accredited college or university with major coursework in the social sciences, psychology, criminal justice, or a related field.

The position investigates allegations of child abuse and neglect and performs social service and case management supportive services to children, youth and families. An important aspect of this work is the employment of casework skills in obtaining essential information, counseling clients and members of their families and helping them utilize all available resources.
A bachelor's degree, which includes or is supplemented by successful completion of 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice or other related social sciences; OR two years of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 and two years of college-level course work which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which includes 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of experience as a County Social Services Aide 3 or in a similar position performing paraprofessional case management functions is required. Strong interpersonal skills are necessary. Microsoft Office skills are required.

The County of Washington Behavioral Health & Developmental Services Department is seeking applicants for the position of Child & Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) Coordinator. The position is an 8:30-4:30 Monday thru Friday (rare occasion for evening work).
The Child & Adolescent Service System Program (CASSP) Coordinator position helps children and their families with mental health concerns in Washington Co. This county level position facilitates carious meetings and works closely with school districts, providers, and families to ensure appropriate services and resources are in place for adolescents with complex needs. They assist in developing Individualized Plans of Action with the child, family and multi systems involved, to assure that the family has the least restrictive services in place. CASSP Coordinator monitors and coordinator the services for families in the mental health program and assures that the program meets the CASSP principles. They work closely with the Child and Adolescent Director to identify mental health focused training opportunities and cross system collaboration amongst services and community members in Washington County. The position also provides technical assistance to contract and service providers, interprets rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, and provides advice regarding overall policies and program objectives.
The position requires a bachelor’s degree in related field and two years of professional level experience in the field of mental health OR any equivalent combination of experience and training.
