Our Staff

Led by Coroner S. Timothy Warco, the Washington County Coroner's Office has a staff made up of dedicated individuals who investigate unexpected deaths, contact families, perform examinations and certifications, and provide general administrative support. We are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to respond to unexpected, unattended, violent or traumatic deaths occurring within the County.

Chief Deputy Yancosek assists Coroner Tim Warco with all of the operational aspects of the Coroner's Office, manages operations and personnel, including our forensic investigators and experts in various forensic disciplines. Matt started with the Coroner's Office in early 2015 and was certified as a Medicolegal Death Investigator by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General's in 2019.

Chief Deputy Coroner Emeritus

Susan Falvo Warco's strong background in nursing and is professional status as a licensed funeral director helped her serve the Coroner's Office from 1992 to 2021.

 Though Susan has retired as Chief Deputy in 2017, she she remained a trusted advisor and friend until her death in 2021. We know Susan's knowledge and dedication to her work and her family will continue to guide us.

Alex VanKirk

Supervisor VanKirk is a full-time deputy coroner and assists the Coroner and Chief Deputy by supervising our team of field investigators. Deputy VanKirk obtained a degree in forensic science from Point Park University. She has a varied background in public safety, having worked previously as an intelligence analyst, an emergency telecommunications operator, and a police clerk. Alex's interest in forensics dates back to childhood. 

Emma O'Hair
Deputy Coroner/Supervising Investigator
Deputy Coroner O'Hair joined the coroner's office in July of 2023. 

S. Timothy Warco II

Transportation
Deputy Coroner Warco II has severed the coroner's office since the early 2000s. Tim has done almost any type of investigation you can imagine, and currently serves as removal/transportation. Tim has a Masters in business administration from the West Virginia University and is a licensed funeral director. Tim also works privately as a funeral director.

Tim was certified as a Medicolegal Death Investigator by the Pennsylvania Office of the Attorney General in 2016.

Rodney Bush

Forensic Investigator

Deputy Coroner Bush joined the office as a forensic investigator in early 2019. Deputy Bush has been an active member of the law enforcement community for many years, most recently with the North Franklin and Donegal Township police departments. 

BJ McKay

Deputy Coroner McKay joined the office as a forensic investigator in September 2020. A retired State Trooper, Deputy McKay brings years of professional law enforcement background to his new role.

Aubrey Onorato

Forensic Investigator
Deputy Coroner Onorato joined the office in July of 2019 as a forensic investigator. Following her lifetime dream of becoming a death investigator, Aubrey previously worked for the Erie County Coroner. Aubrey is also a licensed professional counselor, and as a practicing therapist, she lends families a unique perspective on grief and loss.
