2026 Petition Filing Information

This information is only for candidates running for Local Party Precinct Committee Person in Washington County.  If you are running for Governor, Lieutenant Governor, US Representative in Congress, State Senator in General Assembly, State Representative in General Assembly, or Member of State Political Party Committee visit the Pennsylvania Department of State. 

  • It is unlawful to circulate your petition for signatures before February 17.
  • The deadline to file is March 10 by 4:30 pm in the Elections Office.  Postmarks are not accepted.
  • Local Party Precinct Committee Person candidates are required to obtain at least 10 signatures from voters within their precinct.

Important Dates for the 2026 Election Year

Candidate Packet for Local Party Precinct Committee Person - Read over the instructions carefully before circulating your petition for signatures.  Reference the checklist found on the last page as a guide when you are ready to file your petition.

Candidate Nomination Petition - Petitions MUST be printed/copied as DUPLEX (double-sided, front and back, head-to-head) on PLAIN WHITE 8- 1/2” x 11” (letter-size) paper. This requirement CANNOT be satisfied by printing each side of the nomination petition on a separate sheet of 8 1/2” x 11” paper and affixing the two sheets together with a staple, paper clip, or adhesive. FAILURE TO REPRODUCE THE NOMINATION PETITION CORRECTLY WILL RESULT IN REJECTION OF THE PETITION.
